Ride Barefoot for the Health of your Horse!

I was the photographer so I couldn't get any under saddle pics, but here he is!

He was chewing the bit- it's not adjusted that high. 

Maverick is an 8 year old half-Arab, and he is very sweet and willing to please.  He has had a lot of groundwork and is an excellent student.  He learns fast and loves to learn. Peppermint treats will turn this 15.2 hand boy into a puppy dog!

His first trail ride went very well.  He had no problem with going down the driveway with the neighbor's dog running at the fence and barking; riding on the road with traffic, and riding between two farms with horses running on both sides in the pastures.  He did have his pasturemate Rebel along as a buddy horse, but he far exceeded my expectations for his first ride out. 

This horse has the mind to become a wonderful trail horse, and the movement to be a low level dressage mount.  He's the first one to leave the herd and come say hi, and is really looking for his one special person. 

 UPDATE!!  Maverick has done so well in his lessons, he's earned his place as a competition horse!  He will be going to a show or two this summer.  Better pictures then, I promise!
